Project details
Suzy is tired of her husband, bored of her kids and haunted by the radical zoology career she abandoned. When an opportunity arises to return to the lab, she proposes outsourcing her husband’s sexual needs, forcing her to confront twenty years of buried truth, desire and shame. Canis, f. presents the male gaze through a female lens in a darkly-comic story about colonisation of body and mind and the elusive nature of desire.
Written by Bruntwood-longlisted playwright Kate Rawson, and directed by award-winning director Julia Taudevin (and produced by yours truly.) The play was runner-up for Comedy Writing at the Funny Women awards.
We are now in development, and planning a rehearsed reading for late November. More details to come…
